Los mosquitos, y yo Y yo Y yo!

Mosquitos y Yo is a program that launched in March of 2018, aimed at empowering children to become young scientist and get curious about issues that directly affect their community. The program lasts for about a week, and consists of learning about mosquitos and their lifecycle, and how they come to be vectors for carrying diseases like Zika, Dengue, and Chikungunya. The kids also learn how these diseases can affect individuals such as themselves, and how to avoid being bitten. The camp is run in a fun, interactive way that encourages children and pushes them to engage and come to their own conclusions about scientific processes. Fieldwork mixed with classroom time forms the perfect combination for an open setting where "tell me more" replaces "no, that's not right", and the flow of learning can take place.
